Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

This is the home of Mrs Mooney, Mrs Mansfield, Mrs Hill and our fabulous Year 4 children.

We are so proud of the fantastic start the children have made and are looking forward to exploring our new learning challenges throughout the Curriculum this year.

Below is some key information for Year 4:

PE

This half term, PE will be on a Monday and Thursday

Homework

All homework will be set online except for reading books and reading journals. For more information on our homework expectations for Year 4, please look on the Homework tab at the top of the page.

Maths and English

Set on Seesaw on Tuesdays and should be completed by the following Monday.

Spellings

Placed on Seesaw on Fridays and tested on the following Friday.

Reading

15-20 minutes every night.

Times Tables Rock Stars

10 minutes every night.

Multiplication Tables Check

This year all Year 4 children will sit a times tables check in June. This is produced by the government and children will be tested on their times tables up to 12 x 12. Children will answer 25 questions on a computer or tablet and on average, the test should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. More information about the time tables check can be found in the documents below.

Wheel of Fortune

To promote positive behaviour and attitudes we will be using our school Good to be Green scheme alongside the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ in class. If the children follow our class rules: listen, focus, be kind and hands up, they will be in with a chance to spin the Wheel of Fortune and earn a reward.

To keep up to date with what we are doing in class, please check our class blog and Twitter page which will be updated each week.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email or telephone the school office and all messages will be passed onto class teachers.

Thank you for your support with the children's learning!
