Today, we looked at how Christmas is celebrated in Spain.  

Traditional sweets and biscuits are nougat and shortbread.

This week, we have been learning some Christmas vocabulary.

We also sang a song called Santa es su nombre  (Santa is his name)

Today, we have been learning how to say, read and write the days of the week. We looked for patterns to help s remember them, and noticed that all the week days end in es  and the weekend days end in o.

We also practised saying how old we are in Spanish with a game of headbandz.

This week, we have been learning how to say how old we are in Spanish.

This week, we learnt how to use the colours in Spanish in a question and answer.

We practised with a partner.

Then, we practised writing the colours.

Today we sang some songs to help us remember the greetings and numbers we have learnt.

Today we sang a song to practise the  good bye phrases we have learnt in Spanish.

This week, we learned how to write the numbers in Spanish from 1-10.

We looked carefully at the spellings and pronunciation.  Some numbers are trickier than others.

This week, we have been learning some different goodbye phrases in Spanish.

We met another word containing the silent 'h' , and looked at how   ñ    is pronounced.

Today we practised all the greetings we have learnt so far in Spanish.  Then we wrote them down, looking carefully at the spelling.

We learnt that the letter h is always silent in Spanish.

Today we practised the question, What is your name?  We also learnt how to read and write the answer, looking carefully at the sounds and spelling in Spanish.
