    Autumn 1

    Year 1 have made an amazing start to the term, and they have remembered so many of the Spanish key questions and replies that they learned last year.  They began with a game of Quiz Quiz Trade,  asking each other, 'How are you?

       

    Throughout the term, we have been learning to read aloud the Spanish version of the story The Enormous Turnip. We focused on the repetitive words and phrases within the story,  using actions to help us remember them,  and added to the family member names that we already know.

    Today, we started to learn a new song, called Todo Mi Cuerpo (all my body).  This song helped us to practise all of the parts of the body in Spanish that we have learnt so far.

    Today, we learnt a song about a little donkey in Spanish called Tingalayo.  We already know the word for donkey, and little donkey is very similar.
