Welcome to our new class blog for 2025 - 2026. We cannot wait to have so many wonderful times together learning new things.
With our Christian Vision “I can do everything through God who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13 I know we will all strive to do our BEST.

What an amazing day we have spent with B-Tales. We are extremely lucky to have Tash develop our class worship. We looked at the Christian value of perseverance and persisting when time gets difficult. The children were amazing performers and we are very proud of them. They conveyed the meaning of the story very well. Well done, Year 4!
In Maths, we have started our new topic looking at length and perimeter. We started with looking at km, metres and cm and when it is best to use what unit.

In our Ready, Steady, Write lessons, we started to look at a hunter's guide to defeating a monster. We explored two monsters from Norse mythology and researched information and facts about them. We discovered the snake (Jörmungandr) poisonous breath and its weakness is lightning. He is also a sea serpent and he is designed to fight the mighty Thor. We cannot wait to use these facts in our writing.

Week ending 30.1.26
We finished the week by creating our 'vision boards' for the year ahead and setting small goals that we want to achieve. Take a peek at some of our ideas!
In our Ready, Steady, Write lessons, we have finished writing our mythical narratives. They were full of fantastic, descriptive language and creative ideas. Well done, Year 4!
In Maths, we have continued to look at dividing. We looked at a 3 digit number diving it by a 1 digit number and sometimes we even had remainders. This is definitely a skill that we found tricky and we will need some further practice.

During R.E., we looked at different bible stories where Jesus performed miracles. We acted it out and performed it. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Son of God through stories, words and miracles that show God’s power working through him. God calls Jesus his Son at his baptism and Jesus shows God’s love by caring for people and performing miracles, such as Jesus feeding the 5,000 with a small amount of food, walking on water to help his friends not be afraid and curing people with leprosy to make them well again. These stories helped us understand who Jesus is and why Christians believe he is special.

Week ending 23.1.26
This term, we are delighted to welcome Mr Holland, who will be teaching singing lessons to Years 3 and 4 over the next six weeks. There will also be an exciting opportunity for the children to sing at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and to perform alongside a professional orchestra on Tuesday 10th March.
We were extremely fortunate to be invited to LIPA Sixth Form College to attend a Children’s Theatre performance. The cast and production team were outstanding across all areas, including performance, costume design, lighting, sound and stage management. The children were treated to a variety of wonderful performances put on by the talented students, including Twisted Tales, The Jungle Book, The Wizard of Oz and James and the Giant Peach.

In Maths, we have started to focus on dividing. We started looking at a two digit number being divided by a one digit number. We looked at this in a place value chart and by partitioning the number into tens and ones. We also used our related times tables facts to answer some before doing any working out. Then, we move onto exchanging a ten into ten ones.

In our Ready, Steady, Write lessons, we have been busy planning our mythical narrative based on Arthur and the Golden Rope. Take a peek at some of our plans!
To develop some of our sentences further and explore different word classes, we used a spinner to amend them and experiment with them.
