Over the course of the Spring term, Year 5 developed their knowledge of the risks of their online lives and their skills when using online services. Their My Online Life topic took a holistic approach to each of the different elements of their online lives. Their lessons included stimulating classroom discussions about certain situations that may arise when online, to get the children to think critically about their online lives.
Additionally, the children were introduced to the world of Augmented Reality (AR). They were set the task of designing and creating a game that uses AR.
In the summer term Year 5 produced their own podcasts. Podcasting is a wonderful way of allowing children to share their work and experiences with a potentially huge audience over the Internet. Schools are increasingly using the internet to promote what they do, and to celebrate the achievements of their children, and podcasting is an excellent way of doing this.
In the second part of the summer term, Year 5 are developing their IT and Computing skills with ELMS.
